My Background

Marise Redmann is a mental health counselor, writer, dancer/choreographer, massage therapist, and entrepreneur based in Wisconsin. She received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and has worked in Milwaukee with Alternatives in Psychological Consultation (APC) and Jewish Family Services (JFS), serving both youth and adults from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. She pulls from her experience as an artist, educator, and massage therapist to cultivate a therapeutic practice catered to all stages of human development with an emphasis on teen, senior, and women’s health.
By integrating traditional evidence-based interventions with innovations in somatic research, her practice takes a multifaceted and wholistic approach to mental health. She designs personalized approaches to client care through methodologies such as art and dance therapy, massage therapy, nutrition, meditation, play and games, and techniques such as narrative therapy, mindfulness, ACT therapy, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Care for Door County

I was born and raised in Door County, where I also started my family and brought up two children. I used to own the Settlement Courtyard Inn & Lavender Spa in Fish Creek and sold those businesses in 2018, allowing me to return to school. Mental health services and expertise are much needed in our community, something I know very well. Not only did I grow up going to Gibraltar, I raised two kids in our school district, one who has autism and ADHD, the other who has type-1 diabetes and was in advanced placement. I ended up homeschooling both kids in high school, though I continued to support the school's extracurricular programs and arts, and that is what inspired me to return to school for mental health counseling. I am returning to Gibraltar as part of United Way's STRIDE program, as one of several mental health counseling providers.
